Angus Decorating Co Ltd, formed in 1968 by Allan Kennedy, have grown into the largest professional painting and decorating company in Tayside currently employing  80 operatives with 3 Contracts Managers and backed by 10 management and administrative staff based in the head office at Kirkton Enterprise Centre in Arbroath. Turnover in the region of £3m both sub contracting and main contracting in all sectors of the construction industry.

Following semi-retiral of founding director Allan Kennedy in October 2005; re-organisation of the company took place and Mike Campbell was appointed in December 2005 as General Manager to run the operations side and to diversify and develop a construction division within the existing organisation. Mike is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with 30 years experience in the construction industry predominantly in the contracting side and prior to joining Angus Decorating was Managing Surveyor with a major construction contractor in Dundee overseeing the Surveying elements on a turnover up to £40m.

Stewart Ferguson was appointed as Manager of the new Company. Stewart previously worked as the Manager of the Small Contracts Division of the same Dundee based contractor. He has over 20 years experience in the construction industry both as Estimator and Contracts Manager and latterly has been responsible for the running of contracts from procurement to completion with his team of site agents, surveyors and admin staff.

Scott McFarlane joined A D Contracting in early February 2008 as Senior Site Manager. Scott has also worked with a major north east building contractor and, as well as being a time served joiner, brings with him 10 years supervisory and site management experience in all areas of construction from small contracts and refurbishment works to major new build contracts. Before joining A D Contracting Scott was Site Manager on a £4m refurbishment of a school for Aberdeen Council.

A D Contracting Ltd currently carries out small building contracts including domestic and commercial new builds, alterations and extensions. A D Contracting are also currently constructiong a new steel portal frame storage facility for the national building merchant, Buildbase, at their Arbroath site. The company will provide a professional service for domestic and private clients alike and will grow the business by developing this reputation and progressing to contracts for local authorities, housing associations, educational establishments and healthcare providers among others.
